We sometimes don't think about things enough we just simply write them off before hearing the whole story. We get an idea in our heads that we think is right and we stick with it and that is just how it is. We don't try hard enough to see what the other guy is trying to say or explain where they are coming from. We can all be guilty of this I believe it is just human nature. In the play this is how it is with Walter I think in a way because for some reason he just isn't happy and sure it isn't right what he is doing but also he is dealing with something. No one but mama actually takes some sort of action to try to help the matter by giving him the money. This is an example of trying to understand the other person's situation.
